This is a first version of a commissioned video piece for contemporary art photographer Manuel Vason. The work is a teaser for an upcoming project where Vason is collaborating with 40 live artists to make a new series of images titled “Double Exposures.”
This project is a continuation on from a book published 10 years earlier working with 19 live artists titled “Exposures.”
A central concept of “Double Exposures” is that the left and right eyes both pick up different information which we process and construct meaning from. The placement of two images next to each other create connections, affinity, associations as well as separation, incompatibility, deviation.
The end product of this video is that it will be the exported into two sections. Rather then being displayed as a single split screen video it will become two separate videos to be played simultaneously or displayed as a two channel video installation
